Our office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.
to 5:00 p.m. We see patients by appointment only. On your first
visit, you will be asked to complete new patient forms; please plan
to arrive 20 minutes before your appointment. Please bring a referral
form from your primary care physician, if applicable, as well as your
insurance authorization and/or card. If you need to cancel or reschedule
an appointment, please call 24 hours in advance. If we need to cancel
or re-schedule your appointment due to an emergency, we will make every
attempt to reach you.
Two physicians are on-call 7-days a week, 24-hours a day. If you are facing an emergency, call the office first, if possible. During normal business hours, the on-call physician may see you in the office. After hours, our physicians' answering service will contact the on-call physician. Our staff members are trained to answer many of your questions, so you may not have to wait until your physician is available to get the help you need. When you call, please provide the name of your pharmacy and phone number, current medications, insurance information and a number where you can be reached. The Indiana Orthopaedic Center treats patients in the emergency departments of Community Hospitals Indianapolis East and North, Hancock Memorial Hospital, and Major Hospital. If you go to the emergency department, an ER physician will evaluate your condition and will contact our on-call physician, if necessary. The Indiana Orthopaedic Center performs in-patient and out-patient surgical Procedures at Community Hospitals Indianapolis East and North, Major Hospital in Shelbyville, and Hancock Memorial Hospital in Greenfield. We handle the scheduling and precertification of Your surgery. When your procedure is scheduled, we will contact you with the date, time, and instructions. If you have questions, we will work with you to ensure they are answered and that you have all appropriate pre- and post-op instructions. The Indiana Orthopaedic Center utilizes the skills and knowledge of physical and occupational therapists, physical therapy assistants and athletic trainers to design and implement rehabilitation programs. The rehabilitation program is individualized to the needs of the patient. Our surgeons and therapists work very closely together, to develop and administer treatments to ensure the continuity of care required for a successful outcome. Specialty areas of treatment include:
Insurance and Payment If we are not a provider for your insurance company, or if you do not have insurance coverage, we will require payment in full at the time of service. We will provide a receipt so you may file the claim. If you need surgery, we will always contact your insurance carrier. We will explain your payment responsibility Payment arrangements must be made prior to surgery. You may make payment with MasterCard, Visa, cash or personal check. If you are enrolled in a managed care plan, you may need a referral from your primary care physician. Please make certain that we have the referral before or when you arrive for your appointment; otherwise, we will ask that you pay in full at the time of your appointment. We participate in most insurance and managed care plans, including many workers comp plans, and we are a participating provider for Medicare. If you have questions concerning billing procedures, please call our Billing Department at 863-2178. We know you are concerned about the cost of your care. We are too, and we are available to discuss our fees and financial policy with you. You may have a policy that requires referrals, pre-certification, or the use of specific health care facilities. If we have a contract with your insurance carrier, we will file an insurance claim for you. You will still be responsible for any co-pay, co-insurance, or unmet deductible at the time of service.
